Cocktail Franks with Luau King Sweet & Sour Sauce
Makes 60 franks and about 2 cups sauce
Luau King Sweet & Sour Sauce is a tart 'n tangy South Seas sensation sure to enliven your next Polynesian party! Great with pork, chicken, beef, fish, you name it - this tantalizing alternative to teriyaki will have your guests doing the hula in no time. Mahalo!
1 cup sweetened applesauce
1/2 cup duck sauce
1/4 cup chili sauce
2 teaspoons prepared horseradish, drained
2 teaspoons apple cider vinegar
1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
1 teaspoon coarsely ground black pepper
60 cocktail franks
In a small bowl, stir together all ingredients except franks. Refrigerate Luau King Sauce for at least 2 hours before using. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add about 1/4 cup water and cook cocktail franks, turning a few times till plump and heated-through, about 3 minutes. Drain and keep warm. When it's party time, serve franks with toothpicks and sauce. Rock-a-hula baby!
